This unusual boat, nicknamed “Mr. Trash Wheel” runs along the canals and the harbor the American city of Baltimore, cleaning debris from the water. Garbage trucks is moving slowly through the water, while the water wheel pulls out all the debris from the water. All the trash left in the tanks, and the water back into the canal.
During 1.5 years of work barge managed to collect a huge amount of plastic and metal cans, plastic bags, cigarette butts, sticks and other debris. Seeing the positive trend, the barge supplemented by solar panels, helping to turn the wheel. If the work of garbage collection will continue at the current pace, then after 4 years in the channel and the harbor you can swim.

A perfect solution ! I love Baltimore. Spent a lot of time in the Inner Harbor area while my daughter lived there for 4 years. A real success story. ☺

The amount of garbage is revolting; the boat is amazing; I’ll have to find out who came up with the idea. Really interesting post.

Thanks for the post! We lived in Baltimore for 7 years and have relatives there, but didn’t know about this. Sometimes it feels like we don’t get much right in the world’s eyes, but this is a good thing:0)).

This is Wonderful! Hearty Congratulations and Blessings on the Person who came up with this Idea, and those who are Running this.
I hope, wish and Pray that the Indian government, and many others, would take this up!
