The average depth is small – about a meter, but in certain areas can reach more than two meters. the lake is remarkable because it is the largest in Western Siberia salt deposit. On the shore of the lake is the village of Bursol. Throughout the year, Lake Burlin has changed the shade of the waters. The brightest pink color can be seen in the spring months. The lake is the main deposit of table salt of Western Siberia.
The length of the lake is about 8 km, width is 6.5 km. The maximum depth is 2.5 meters, and the average does not exceed 1 meter. That is, theoretically, Burlin Lake can be crossed without even dousing the hair on the head.
The density of salt water in the lake is higher than in the Dead Sea, it is impossible to drown in it. The banks around the reservoir are gentle and covered by a layer of salt for several hundred meters, so it is not recommended to walk barefoot here, it’s better to go into the water too, because the bottom also consists entirely of salt crystals, sometimes quite large. They can not only be sharp, but also quite slippery.
Raspberry lake
Raspberry lake in the Altai is located near the town of the same name in the Mikhailovsky district. In this area there is a whole system of bitter-salty and fresh lakes, among which the Crimson is allocated in size. The area of its water surface is more than 11 square kilometers. km. In addition, the waters of the Crimson Lake help to cure female diseases and even infertility.
The lake is inhabited by the shrimp of Artemy Salina , who produces a pink pigment that stains water. In spring, the color of the lake is brighter, it becomes brown by autumn. The concentration of salt water of the Crimson Lake is not inferior to the sea. The depth is small (in the middle – to the waist of the child), so the lake is very warm. When swimming, you should be careful – the bottom of the pond is covered with a solid hydrochloric crust. Rinse off the salt in a fresh water basin, which is 400 meters away.
The amazing beauty of the lake with medicinal mud and healing water, saturated with many healthy substances, attracts the inhabitants of the surrounding settlements and numerous tourists. On the shore of the lake there is a sandy beach, which is a good beach.
Nearby there is another pink lake – Crimson, it is even smaller. The water in it is almost constantly colored in crimson shade. There is a period when the lake becomes closer in color to gray and even blue, although this is rather a rarity. Crimson is famous for its curative mud.
