The Bodie , which can not be photographed at night without special permission, is one of the best-preserved ghost towns in America. It is characterized by the residences of the miners who inhabited it more than 100 years ago.

39 years old photographer Matthew Christopher , who is famous for his photo in abandoned sites, visited the site many times, recording the galaxy shining over arched houses, loaded trucks and shops that once served the natives of Bodie.

The settlement was founded in 1859, after the discovery of gold in the hills east of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It was inhabited until the 1940s, and in 1962 the area was transformed into a state park. At the time of its peak, when everyone was digging for gold, until 1880, the inhabitants reached 10,000!
